Joseph F. Casseb

JOSEPH F. CASSEB was born on February 24th, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas to Soloman N. Casseb and Annie Barberio. He attended Central Catholic High School and took part in their varsity basketball team. After graduating from high school in 1945, he was drafted into the armed forces in 1946. 

After returning from service, he married his wife Mary Louise in 1956 and graduated from St. Mary’s University Law School with his J.D. one year later.

After graduating he served as an Assistant District Attorney for Bexar County from 1978-81 and afterward as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas from 1981-83. Two prominent cases he took part in were United States v. Scott in 1982 and United States v. Salazar-Martinez in 1983 before the United States 5th Circuit Court of Appeal.

Once leaving public service in 1983 he focused on civil litigation working as part of the Goode Casseb Jones Riklin Choate & Watson law office as of 1991.

In 2008 he was recognized in ADR by Texas Monthly as a “Texas Super Lawyer” and has been recognized annually since as he has conducted over 4000 litigations over the course of his career. He was also recognized by Best Lawyers in 2019 and is a Charter Member of the Texas Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
