Honorable Karen Angelini

THE HONORABLE KAREN ANGELINI was born on March 3, 1951 in Austin, Texas. Angelini attended the University of Texas where she received her B.A. in 1997. She continued her education at St. Mary’s School of Law where she received her J.D. in 1979 as a distinguished graduate.

Justice Angelini worked as a Briefing Attorney with the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals.  She then joined the law firm Brock & Fuller, where she led the appellate section and served as managing partner. Justice Angelini also served as a staff attorney for the U.S. District and Magistrate Courts for the Western District of Texas in the San Antonio Division. In 1997, Angelini was appointed to the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals by Governor George W. Bush. Her term ended in December of 2018 and she did not seek re-election. 

Justice Angelini is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association Board of Trustees and served as its President from 2004-2005. She is also a member of the Texas Bar Association, The Texas Bar Foundation, San Antonio Bar Foundation Advisory Board, the Court of Criminal Appeals Judicial Education Committee, and the Western District of Texas Project Safe Neighborhoods Task Force. She also served on the State Bar of Texas Judicial Ethics Committee, St. Mary’s Board of Trustees, President of St. Mary’s Law Alumni Association, Vice-President of the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, and Chairperson of the Federal Bar Admissions Committee.
