Katherine’s brother, Eddie Stinson, worked as a flight instructor at Stinson Field in San Antonio before forming the Stinson Aircraft Corporation in Michigan in 1926. This company built airplanes and was very successful. One of the most famous planes built by Stinson Aircraft was the Stinson Voyager which is still flown today!

Sadly, Eddie Stinson died in a plane crash in 1932. His company continued to operate independently until World War II (1941-45), when it was bought by another company and became the Stinson Division of the Vultee Aircraft Corporation. This later became Consolidated Aviation, then Conair, and finally General Dynamics. Though the Stinson name is gone, aircraft with the Stinson heritage are still built today!
